F.A.Q.

(Frequently Asked Questions)

Where are you?
Cordoba, Argentina

How long will you be there?
9 months. We'll be home June 1st, 2011.

Who are you going with?
We're going through Operation Mobilisation (OM) - an organization sharing the Gospel in more than 110 countries. More info here.

Where are you living?
We live in a part of a house owned by OM. We have our own bedroom and bathroom and share a kitchen with five other missionaries (one full-time staff member and four others from the States).

What are you doing?
We assist OM in whatever they are doing. The big project now is the Cultural Center. We had formerly thought this to be a coffee shop, but it's much more. They have a great building downtown and we're currently painting, sanding, cleaning, and building to get it ready for the first outreach. OM hopes to interact with the thousands of college students who frequent the area.

We also participate in the church activities, work with a home for boys, and help with computer classes. We'll take on more as we get acclimatd.

What's the weather like there?
50 to 80 degrees now and getting warmer every day. We'll get to skip a winter as the seasons are reversed here. (Summer -> Spring -> Summer -> Fall -> Summer)

Do you get payed?
No, as is with many organizations, OM staff must raise support. Approximately 1/3 of our airfare, room-and-board, and other expenses are covered by our church, friends, and family. (Thank you!) The rest is out of savings. If you'd like to be a part of what we're doing down here, you can click here to give.

  1. I am SO excited for you two! I have just now logged on and gotten caught up with your blog postings. I hope you will continue to post your experiences here. I will surely be checking in frequently. (PS Jack says "HI". And I suspect Em has let you know that she is moving to an apt. in Omaha on 18 Sept.) You are in our prayers. I know God will use you in mighty and powerful ways while you are there, even if it isn't obvious to you right now.
